Now that I'm leaving I'm trying very generously to stop all that whining and think of all the good things in South Korea
1 - Toilets
South Korean public bathrooms offer you 'squat','sit' and 'stand up for boys' types in most places.Really! Even in subway stations.
The country even has a yearly 'Best Toilet' competition! - And they are everywhere! You'll never have to search long to find a public loo even in country towns. Cool it's like Koreans are proud of them. No s***t! No pun intended.
Their basic cleanliness, to me, seems better than that of most European ones! But I left the best for last. Most have toilet paper! Although the only dispenser is usually by the main entrance...try to remember before it's too late :o)
Now, I wonder if Seoul, the world's 3rd most populus city (24.5 million! and counting) manages to have decent choice and standards in WCs...
Hey London!
2 - Japanese Food
Nowere I have ever had so much fish. Raw in particular.
Imagine; a big bowl of salad with a handfull of raw tuna cubes that you mix with a smaller bowl of hot steamed rice = HeDopBap (or whatever) served with a good selection of small side dishes such as pickled veggies and unidentified, weird but tasty stuff. Wash that all down with a cup of hot Sake (Japanese rice wine).
All for £5 about $7.50 Yum! Now that I shall truly miss.
Than there is the Dragon Roll that is basically California Roll with Teriyaki marinaded, grilled Sea Eel slices on top...yep +Sake
Udon Noodles(fat rice noodles in Miso,) topped with Tempura and Donkats(Crispy Breaded Pork fillet) served with steamed rice have pretty much formed my base diet here for the past two years. Fresh, healthy food and no washing up. Yep, it's cheaper to eat out then in. Weird ha?
3 - Nope! Can't think of anything else right now...
