I've arrived in Lima yesterday after a looooooooooooooooong journey.
On the plane got matey with a 36 year old Indian Shaman from the
Amazon on his way back from Austria where he gave speech on his work.
He had some strange questions like am I always wearing trousers or
just for travelling? Apparently women must wear skirt! Also women in
general cannot be believed because they don't know as much as man do.
:o) I explained to him that some Western woman would actually hit him
on the head quite hard for saying things like that. :o)
Then he proceeded to read my hand or something (me things he just
wanted to touch me, cause then he put his paw on my thigh which I have
encouraged gently but firmly) I mean he had the looks and talked the
talk but no amount of magic he may have had, had any effect on my
whatsoever. ;o)
At one point after about 10 hours in the air next to me: he said " Let
me see how educated you are: What is 36 divided by 12...?
So I answered and also told him that it is a prime number. The only
prime in the equation. The square root of the number in question is 6
that isn't a prime either and that he should try asking something a
bit more difficult like 42. (nope not a prime) In which case I'd refer
him to the great Douglas Adams who has a really interesting answer to
it. :o)
.........dunno if he reflected on that or just tried working out what
the fuck 'prime number are' 'cause he went nicely quiet. (He did talk
a lot of shit but luckily his accent and my poor grammar protected me
from it :o)
All that in Spanish :o) haha! I love it. I't brilliant to be able to
talk to folks in their own lingo. I've been talking Spanish a lot with
my host from couchsurfing.com Marco. Real nice person, he's got this
huge 'minimalist' apartment. That is nothing much in it apart from the
very basics...hey what else would one really need. :o)))
Weather is cloudy and cool 16C it's the middle of winter here. Very
humid although we are technically in the desert. Weird. And the trees
are weird looking.
Food is really nice so far. And on that note I'm off now to Sonia's
which is a famous Ceviche (seafood in lime juice) restaurant now. It's
open only at lunch time so I'll make an early start on that nice
Peruvian beer.
Luv, Vicky
