Growing up I absolutely hated it ever since I can remember. It always tasted like off-milk and stunk to me. I like milk and even sour cream, (Crème fraiche to you snobs). But yogurt is a no. Then, yesterday at the supermarket I was standing in front of the myriads of different yogurt pots and wondered if I have never actually given them a real fighting chance. Plus there are so many new flavours now.
Always considered myself an adventurous eater, hell I tried deep friend scorpions in China (kind of taste like pop-corn). Also, with age people tend to get more close minded and me in my 40's decided to 'train' mine to stay open. Yes, I bough three pots. Peach with bits, Strawberry jelly thing in the corner, Greek natural. By the time I got home I was really hungry which always helps the taste buds. Sat down watching Boston Legal on the telly and gave the three pots a chance.
The outcomes of the experience were
- Yogurt is just that no matter what flavor they add.
- I don't hate yogurt.
- Boston Legal is a great show that even yogurt can't spoil.
Lessons learnt:
- Being open minded doesn't always taste good.
- Trying the thing you hate might make you hate it less or even bearable.
- Combining a 'positive' experience with a 'negative' one makes the negative experience less bad as opposed to the other way round.
